Helene Taylor is a San Francisco and Marin, California collaborative family lawyer and mediator with nearly 15 years of experience in simple and complex divorce matters. Helene offers limited scope legal representation to couples whose primary goals are to negotiate quality individualized divorce settlements and child custody agreements without court involvement. Helene's areas of practice include dissolution or divorce, legal separation, child custody and support, spousal support, property valuation and property division.

Helene Taylor is a member of the State Bar of California, the Hawaii State Bar Association, the Association for Conflict Resolution, Mediate.com and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Before opening The Law and Mediation Offices of Helene Taylor and launching The Modern Woman's Divorce Guide, Helene served as an associate trial attorney at the San Francisco law firms of Bley and Bley and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, LLP. During her trial practice Helene litigated issues related to child custody, child support, spousal support, prenuptial agreements, property division, paternity and more. She also has successfully settled many cases before both public and private judges in California and Hawaii. During her divorce trial practice, she appeared numerous times before two renowned California judges: Justice Donald B. King (Ret.) and Judge Roderic Duncan (Ret.). Both Justice King and Judge Duncan are nationally recognized family law authorities and published authors.

Helene also has completed negotiation training facilitated by Roger Fisher, the director of The Harvard Negotiation Project and co-author of the books Getting to Yes: Negotiating Agreement Without Giving In, Getting Ready to Negotiate (Penguin Business) and Beyond Reason: Using Emotions as You Negotiate.

Helene founded The Modern Woman's Divorce Guide in 2005 to empower women in divorce by providing information and support. She is passionate about equal rights for women at home and at work and supports many women's organizations, including: Equality Now, the National Council of Women's Organizations (NCWO), the National Women's Law Center (NWLC) and the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). She received her law degree from William S. Richardson School of Law and, as a divorcee, has first-hand experience with divorce.

Through The Modern Woman's Divorce Guide, Helene strives to reach millions of women and positively affect their lives during and after divorce.
